We are thrilled to announce two exciting updates to our Upper School administrative team as we prepare for the upcoming school year. These new additions reflect our continued commitment to academic excellence, student support, and preparing students for bright futures–both in high school and beyond.
Rabbi Yehuda Waxman, Assistant Principal
Rabbi Yehuda Waxman will serve as our new Assistant Principal, a role that marks an important step forward for the Berman Upper School. Rabbi Waxman brings with him nearly three decades of experience in Jewish education, leadership, and curriculum development.
After receiving semicha in Jerusalem from Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg, Rabbi Waxman transitioned into the world of Jewish education, where he has served as a teacher, department head, and senior administrator both in the UK and the United States.
Most recently, Rabbi Waxman served as Principal of General Studies at Be’er Hagolah Institutes in Brooklyn. His background also includes roles at the King David High School in Manchester, and his academic credentials span a Master’s in Education, a Higher Diploma in Art and Design, and certification in mindfulness instruction.
Rabbi Waxman is deeply passionate about nurturing both the academic and emotional well-being of students, developing meaningful and engaging curricula, and building strong, supportive relationships.
Rabbi Waxman will officially begin his role on August 1 and we are excited for you to meet him in the Fall. We look forward to the many ways Rabbi Waxman will help elevate the Upper School experience for our students, families, and faculty.
This transition also gives us an opportunity to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Ariel Kramer, whose leadership, thoughtfulness, and deep care for students has helped shape the academic life of the Upper School over the past several years. We are deeply grateful for all she has brought to Berman and we wish her every success in her next chapter.
Alexa Micley, Associate Director of College Guidance
We are also delighted to welcome Alexa Micley as our new Associate Director of College Guidance. Mrs. Micley brings over a decade of experience guiding students through the college application process with insight, compassion, and strategic expertise.
As the founder of Alexa Micley Education, an independent college consulting practice, she has helped students craft compelling application narratives and make thoughtful, data-informed decisions. Originally from Hollywood, Florida, She graduated from Katz Yeshiva High School, earned a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania, and holds an M.A. in English Education from Columbia University. She has also taught English and Creative Writing at the secondary level. Her expertise will strengthen our college guidance team and provide valuable support to our students and families.
Please join us in welcoming Rabbi Waxman, Mrs. Micley, and their families to our Berman community.
