Lower School Guidance Counselor (Full time or part time)

Berman Hebrew Academy is a Modern Orthodox Jewish day school that provides a comprehensive Jewish and secular education in an atmosphere of reverence, good citizenship, and love of the Jewish people and Israel. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children in school in order to support the students and their emotional and academic success. The Guidance Counselor will collaborate with the guidance staff, teachers, and administrators to discuss and support students. They will teach bi-monthly guidance classes in classrooms, support students in small groups and 1:1 throughout the school day, communicate regularly with families and other professionals connected with students, and support the transitions and flow of the school day. Additionally, the position will contain some aspects of supporting the organizational aspects of the school day, such as lunch and recess activities and after school activities.   

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Credentials and experience in School Guidance, School Psychology, and School Social Work will all be considered.
  • Demonstrated successful experience working with elementary-age students 
  • Spoken Hebrew proficiency, preferred

Expected Salary Range: $50,000-$80,000 based on education and experience.
