Fine Arts & Creative Arts Instructors (3 positions) – Part Time (Afternoons)

About this Position

Berman Hebrew Academy, in Rockville, MD, is seeking part time (afternoons) Creative & Fine Arts Instructors for the 2021-2022 school year. The ideal candidates will have a love of art, a strong desire to nurture new artists through a variety of media, and a creative approach towards teaching. These positions involve working with students in grades 6-8 (Middle School) and 9-12 (Upper School). 

In the Middle School, Art Electives are designed to introduce students to a variety of media and styles. Classes may include cartooning, ceramics, drawing, watercolor, etc. 

In the Upper School, Art Electives range from Studio Art to AP 2D-Design. Classes include: drawing and painting, using pencil, oil and watercolor paint. 

Qualifications: 

  • A degree in fine arts or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience teaching 2D art, including paint and drawing from the beginners through AP level.
  • Experience working with students in grades 6-12.

The Fine Arts Instructor positions are for the afternoon, Monday through Thursday from 3:30-4:30. 

Salary Range: $12,000-$15,000
