About this Position

Berman Hebrew Academy, a Jewish day school located in Rockville Maryland, and a member school of the Potomac Valley Athletic Conference is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable head Softball coach for the 2024 spring season.. This is a seasonal position. The role of the girls softball head coach is to lead a dynamic and committed group of students into becoming a formidable program. The ideal candidate will instill discipline, hard-work, and commitment in our student athletes while also placing emphasis on character development, sportsmanship, and teamwork. We are looking for a positive communicator: somebody who will thrive in interacting thoughtfully and respectfully with players, parents, and coaches. The Head Softball Coach reports to the Athletic Director.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Organize and plan all facets of the team.
• Plan and organize effective practices that will build the team towards greater proficiency of individual skills as well as team concepts and strategies..
• Acting as a role-model: conducting yourself with passion and enthusiasm while staying positive and professional.
• Establish clear expectations and policies with student athletes.
• Attend all practices, home and away games, and coaches meetings.

(Practices and games will generally be evenings anywhere in the 4-6 range.  There will be no Friday or Saturday day practices/games).

• Supporting marketing by providing game results in a timely manner and sharing student athlete success stories

Qualification and Skills:

• Prior Coaching experience (Minimum 3 years experience)
• Reputable background working with youth
• Must possess a good working knowledge of the sport including rules, regulations, and strategies.
• Good communication skills with players, parents, and other staff.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
